My VMUG experience & learning!
How my VMUG journey started –
Well, one of my colleagues @waghmaredb read out on the dates for upcoming VMUG event, and we discuss possibilities of attending one. I was aware of VMUG events however haven’t attended one ever. Why not? It was an opportunity to learn and meet thus got the link from colleague and it required to be signed up before I could register for an event.
Here we go, signed up on VMUG page for free, fairly easy procedure as you sign up for any other memberships. Once signed up, I went on to register for an event scheduled for the month of June. Noticed these meetings usually take place once in a month. You will get email notification on registered email for all the upcoming session. Do follow the VMUG Twitter account of your region to get event information on twitter!

Into my VMUG sessions (Collected some cool Stickers) –
The June VMUG session, it was held at VMware office, we were welcomed by the VMUG leader at the session, rounds of quick introductions followed by attendance based on your registration. The registration for an event is very important because I noticed event will be served with some food. It is important for organizers to get correct information on number of registrations in order to cater for food and arrange the logistics. So please register for an event but again in my experience I have seen last mins gatecrashes.
Even before presenters start their respective sessions, you will get to meet and talk to VMware users from the industry thus it helps in many ways as you grow as part of community. I was lucky to meet one of VMware employees with whom I worked on collaborative project few years back. We spoke about various technology trends and a brief discussion on how our past project experiences.
The July VMUG session, My second session was in the month of July 2019 and it was my favorite session on Cloud Automation services. The session covered with presentation and demo. This session got everyone excited with VMware capabilities in terms of Cloud Automation services. I personally got extremely excited with one for the upcoming products that will be announced during VMworld 2019.
To summarize, VMUG events offer an incredible opportunity to learn and meet vcommunity. The latest technologies are presented which gives you insight into the offerings and partnership with VMware. Therefore, take opportunity to attend VMUG sessions at your local VMUG community.
